Hire
Around the Planet
wap
mission is to match employers with international workers from around the
planet in a timely and efficient manner. We offer employers several
program options and will work with you
to conduct a pre-screening and needs assessment to determine which
option is right for you and how we can best fulfill your hiring needs.
wap also
provides a matching service to ensure that the best possible cultural
and professional objectives are being realized by both employers and
employees.
We can recruit employees for you to fulfill
your staffing requirements or you can assist us in that process, either
way, chosen international recruiting agents are responsible for the
initial screening of potential employees.
When necessary,
wap
introduces employers to governmental agencies and organizations to
assure full awareness of roles and responsibilities within the
international worker relationship. Questions can be directed to our
senior staff, Becky and house counsel,
John.
wap is
not a State Department designated J-1 sponsor. We recommend that
international agents and employers provide us with information about
their preferred state department designated J-1 sponsors (if
applicable).
Attracting International Workers
To attract the best possible employee for your position, have information prepared which clearly describes you as a company and the position you are trying to fill. Legally you must offer individuals in the J-1 program the federal minimum wage, however wap recommends that you offer a minimum of $8 per hour for a 40 hour work week and additional benefits such as a season end bonus or meal, entertainment and event vouchers. The Department of Labor mandates the prevailing wage for H-2B employees, however again wap recommends that employers increase the prevailing wage and offer additional benefits if possible. Remember, like any hiring situation, in order to attract the best employee, you need to offer competitive wages, benefits and realistic incentives.
